Zachte Man is an artist, composer, producer and label owner based in the Netherlands since 2014.
Initially, the artist name was conceived for a small album release on a local music label by visual artists B. Scholten and G. Deddens.
Zachte Man's music spans a variety of genres, from contemporary classical music to various styles of electronic or computer-produced music.
The artist has collaborated with many others and done several ghost or co-productions in audio and other media than music, such as film.
Recently Zachte Man started working more on visual art and works on his label: Synaipoleo.
Images were often drawn on the computer by Zachte Man, using software like MS Paint, Adobe Photoshop and sometimes the 3d creation suite Blender.
Imitations of physical paintings with vague hints towards abstract expressionism, surreal landscapes, space, architecture, and sometimes faces, silhouettes or body parts were visible elements in the creations.
These images were shared online, often accompanied by odd or humorous text mocking the fact that such paintings had simply been attempted on the computer. Audiences would sometimes believe they were looking at pictures of physical paintings. Illustration and design were more prominent before this series.
Now more actual non-computer projects continue expanding the current volume of the work. Zachte Man started different projects in artist studios WEP, the Netherlands, including one that involves the visualization of the music label he owns.
Video-clips, documentaries, editing and soundtracks are all sorts of categories Zachte Man has found himself working in. Many times it involved collaborating: short term, very concrete and task specific. Other projects Zachte Man has collaborated on focussed more on long term development of experimenting directors or artists. This mostly happened with contemporary dance and theatre or film. Now programming or coding has become part of the way Zachte Man wants to deal with video, next to 3d modeling.
